A review which aims to analyze the critical points of the knowledge or the procedural approaches on a certain topic is called as literature review. Throughout your university education you do lots of projects, assignments, projects and presentations but it doesn't include deep research or critical thinking and this is why literature review is considered to be a little bit difficult. Most of the time you just have a look at the literature review example and starts writing but the information is usually not enough and we totally understand that. This is the reason why I have decided to single out the key points on how to write literature review in 2 days.
DAY 1
Craft an outline for your work:
Devising a plan is always a good idea to start any work. This will help you immensely in organizing and arranging your extensively done research work in order. Craft an outline, and fill in some details so that you won’t get confused in anyways.
Start with a thesis statement:
Start writing your literature review by first crafting a thesis statement which will provide a short glimpse of what a reader should expect in the coming paragraphs. Thesis statement will be then followed by an introductory paragraph, the body of your essay which will be divided into several other paragraphs and last will be the conclusion. The review will contain your comments and analysis pertinent to your point of views.
DAY 2
Analyze your work in detail:
Critically analyze your literature work; this will also include the sources to point out the weaknesses and strength and to find out what sources make the valuable contribution to your field. Judge the literature to find out what information will be pertinent to your thesis. Now, divide the literature into different categories.
Start writing your literature review:
Start writing your review and go through your notes whenever you feel the necessity. See if the review you have written is structured and logical. Make sure your review and the conclusion is connected to your thesis statement you wrote at the beginning. Your literature review is ready!
